This 49-year-old woman presents after losing over 40 kg over the course of 3 years, ultimately stabilising her weight at 73 kg (BMI of 27). Standing at 163 cm, she went from 115 kg (BMI of 43) to her current weight.
She had functional issues due to excess skin under her arms, which has caused persistent pain, rashes, and difficulty finding clothes that fit properly.
She is a smoker, consuming 10-20 cigarettes daily, a factor discussed in detail during her preoperative consultations, given the risks it poses to healing.
Surgical Intervention:
Extended brachioplasty with VASER liposuction (suction-assisted lipectomy)
Fat (Adipose tissue) removed via liposuction (Suction-assisted lipectomy):
- Left arm: 220 ml
- Right arm: 260 ml
Arm skin removed:
- Right side: 127 g
- Left side: 140 g
